About Lakeisha Purchase

Lakeisha Purchase is motivated by the 4 D’s – desire, dedication, determination, and discipline. She works at IDOT as a Supportive Services Specialist for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). A graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Lakeisha began her political career in Springfield after being inspired by her SIU education where she was the Paul Simon Institute Ambassador and she was awarded the Vince Demuzio Intern. She and her husband, Courtney, have restored and flipped several historic homes in the Enos Park and Lincoln Park neighborhoods on the North End. Lakeisha is an active member of Historic Sites Commission of Springfield, Sunrise Rotary, and she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is one of the young professional leaders for the St. John’s Society for Service and Leadership that benefits St. John’s hospital in the Springfield community.

Lakeisha’s work as a Capital Township Trustee has given her a proven track record to run for Ward 5 City Council. She is looking forward to using her desire, dedication, determination and discipline to continue to contribute to her community.
